Cover dog for the 2000 Australian Shepherd AnnualRoper is co-owned with Karen and Ed Keller of KarpeDiem Aussies in Centre Hall, PA. Roper is a do-it-all kinda Aussie--excelling in agility and herding while also dabbling in obedience, tracking and flyball. His temperment is wonderful--very sensible, great with kids and up for anything.
Herding: After only a month of herding training at Legends Aussies in NM, Roper made his debut in the sheep arena and earned his started sheep title--we are so proud of this guy!!!

Agility: Roper competes in agility and loves it--its hard for us to keep up with the boy!!! Roper completed his novice jumper with weaves title with 3-1st place ribbons. Roper earned one leg each towards his Open std and Open JWW title Winter 2004. After a year away from agility competition, Roper blazed his way to two 1st place finishes to earn a leg each in standard and JWW towards his open titles in March 2005. Roper finished his open standard title in May 2005 at our local agility trial. The big man finished his open jumpers in October 2005. Karen trained and trialed Roper to his open titles. Roper is competing in ASCA agility veteran classes now at 10 years of age--he still loves it and tells me all about it if I don't keep up!! Tracking: Roper was introduced to tracking proving himself to be a natural. He throws himself into the harness and finds that glove while ignoring cross tracks including interesting deer scents. What a good boy!!!

Obedience: Roper debuted with Karen in the obedience ring at our local trial in June 2006. He came away with a 4th place scoring 190/200. The next day at the same trial, Roper and Karen did it again--took 4th place with a 188/200 score. The 3rd leg was earned a month later with a 2nd place finish and a score of 189/200. A few years back while visiting TX, Roper earned 2 legs towards his ASCA CD. We finally picked up that final leg at the 2007 ASCA Nationals in NJ. He just doesnt forget....Roper Kids: Roper has a handful of litters on the ground. His pups are showing promise in a variety of venues. Zahn is a blue merle son holding multiple titles in agility and herding from multiple venues. Another pup is turning out to be an ideal juniors dog, already winning awards with her young mistress. Roper also has major pointed offspring in conformation. Check out Roper's major pointed red tri daughter, Dekor Rope a Spell, at Dekor Aussies. At Spells last ASCA show, she took BOB over specials to garner her 2nd major!!!
